Six Toes

Published by Toe at 6:23 pm under Family

If I’m Toe, my six, I mean my sis is Six Toes. Why? Because she has six toes on her right foot. You dont believe me? Behold! (Do not continue if you are queasy or eating something).

sixtoes

No! No! No! My sister does NOT have two right feet! Now, that would be downright freaky. When she went to the beach last weekend, she found out that her officemate is her foot twin. They both have six toes on their right feet.

mayo

My only question now is why is she drinking from a bottle of mayonnaise? ?

With that extra toe on her right foot, does she have any problem buying shoes? :-)

BTW, suwerte daw yung may extra appendages di ba?

  2. nicehearton 25 Apr 2006 at 8:35 pm

My cousin has six fingers. Or I think the sixth one is just dangling from her pinkie.

What I find freaky is how her officemate also has six toes.

My kids are also wondering what kind of shoes she wears.

  3. Toeon 26 Apr 2006 at 8:25 am

Sngl, yup that’s what my sixter, este, sister says… she’s suwerte daw. :)

Niceheart, yeah, isn’t it freaky? There’s actually two of them?

Shoes? I think she’s always had a problem with shoes. Besides the “anim,” she’s got big feet. :) When she was growing, she probably just got used to tucking her “anim” under her other toes. Now, she just buys made-to-order shoes. I’m not sure what she has to say about that though. :)

I used to have made-to-order shoes done in American Golden in Marikina Shoe Expo when I was young. But now I don’t have a problem anymore even with pointed shoes. I wear regular shoes because luckily, my foot width is narrow. But because the 6th one is always tucked under the 5th one it’s become misshapen. It was a major shock to find someone else with 6 toes after 40 yrs of existence :)
We use “jam jars” for mixed alcoholic drinks in Pugad. Lady’s Choice mayonnaise jars have the right shape so I collect and use them.

I thought it was a PhotoShop trick. One foot was already hard to believe. Two…

  10. melaion 26 Apr 2006 at 9:35 pm

hinahanap ko yung relasyon ng six toes ng sister mo at officemate niya sa bote ng mayonaise .. di ko mahanap :(

  11. Toeon 26 Apr 2006 at 11:43 pm

Sidney, can you just imagine how my Mom felt when my sister was born? The nurse was announcing to everyone, “Anim ang paa ng anak ni Nenita!” (Nenita’s child has 6 feet!)… so funny. :)

Melai, tama ka… walang relasyon. Madali lang ako madistract. :) Kita ko kc yung mayonnaise bottle na hawak nya at taka lang ako kung ayon ang uso sa pinas ngayon.

  12. melaion 26 Apr 2006 at 11:44 pm

    hehehhe ganun!

  13. noemion 27 Apr 2006 at 6:21 am

Those pics are interesting. I’ve never seen anyone with 6 toes. The 6 fingers yes. Is it genetic ? or just an accident?

  14. TKon 27 Apr 2006 at 11:22 am

Well they say it is genetics. in so many words it is a “serendipitous confluence of unregulated gene transcription leading to the creation of a unique individual.”

No explanation for the mayonnaise bottle is forthcoming though.

  15. Toeon 27 Apr 2006 at 5:12 pm

Noemi and TK, don’t know if it’s genetics because she’s the only one in our family who has six toes. The officemate said that it’s the same with him.

TK, the mayo bottle is weird no? :)

  16. alfaon 30 Apr 2006 at 4:58 pm

what’s wrong with the mayo bottle? isn’t it an environment-friendly thing to do?

btw, the office mate is cute.

  17. ichay Bulaongon 30 Apr 2006 at 10:12 pm

I got the idea of the mayonnaise bottles aka “jam jars” in Boracay. One of the most popular bars there (it’s so popular I forget the name… basta it’s behind Beachcomber) serves all its mixed alcoholic drinks in mayo jars and has become famous because of that.

Alfa is right. It is environment-friendly.

  18. Mmy-Leion 01 May 2006 at 4:21 pm

    first time i saw six-toes but i have a cousin who had a six-fingers.

my aunt says she likes to eat bananas during her “lihi” period. i dont know if it’s related having a son with six-fingers.

  19. Toeon 02 May 2006 at 11:43 pm

Alfa, I just never heard of drinking from a mayo bottle before. :) Haha… you think JP’s cute? I don’t know him but I’ll tell him. :)

Sixter, where do they put all the contents of the mayo bottles?

Mmy-lei, I’ve never seen anyone with six fingers. Is your cousin the same as Niceheart’s cousin?

  20. dukeon 04 May 2006 at 2:09 pm

she really has six toes?? ang found someone in the same office with six toes too? isn’t that a nice coincidence. does your sister wear open shoes? ang galeng.
so why are you called toe naman?

  21. Toeon 05 May 2006 at 7:32 am

Hi Duke. Thanks for visiting my blog. Yup, my sixter has six toes. It’s freaky but it’s real. Her officemate has six toes too. That’s even freakier. My friends call me Toe because in high school, I used to pictionary my name a lot with a toe and a net (for Tonette). The toe stuck. :)

  22. gerald crostonon 09 Jul 2006 at 12:54 pm

My names gerald I’m from canton oh in the U.S.I also have 6 toes on each of my feet I have a question for your sister does she ever feel like she was put on this earth for something speacial because I’ve recently look up certain things on the internet and I was wanting to get another persons take on that who has the same kind of feet.

  23. Toeon 09 Jul 2006 at 7:38 pm

Hi Gerald. I will ask my sister your question. But I think my parents felt the same way as you when she was born. That’s why they named her “Esperanza” or hope, in Spanish.

  24. Ricardoon 22 Aug 2006 at 3:49 am

oh my,oh my,here are those with the same thing that I have.SIXTOES on both feet.but nothing that looks like these pictures.Mine do not show such prominant bone structure.I was also born with six fingers, only on one hand.Gerald, from Oh.!!!Yes I do feel like there was a reason.but where to start.I’m the middle of three boys. The other two DO NOT have the toes, only me!My mother does not know where it came from.my two sons were born with sixtoes, and fingers.so there is some dominence there.anyone else have history.TALK TO ME!!!

  31. Toeon 18 Nov 2006 at 12:50 pm

Ricardo… that’s right… though we did tease her frequently before because we thought her foot was utmostly weird! :)

Jay Houle, wow! Your two sons both have six toes? Then, it may be true that it’s genetic. I read that Maria Sharapova and her father both have six toes.

  32. aueeon 03 Aug 2007 at 9:39 pm

    weird to look at hehe
when I was 10, I remember a classmate had 6 fingers & the class ended calling him “Fran-six”.. kasi naman parents nya pinangalan sa kanya Francis!

  33. lolaon 07 Jun 2008 at 2:46 am

hi, i found this website by accident when i googled “polydactyl people”. i’m so happy to hear from a lot of people with 6 toes who seem to not have any traumatic experiences while growing up with 6 toes. my daughter just gave birth to a baby boy with 6 toes on both feet and of course, they’re given the option of having them removed just so my grandson won’t be teased when he’s bigger. my questions are: did any of the “sixters” have a problem of being teased when they were young and how did they deal with it? and were there any other medical problems presented with the polydactyly? i’ve read from some medical websites of some syndromes associated with polydactyly and i’m worried that my grandson might have other underlying medical problems. thanks and God bless!
